“A New Year’s Resolution to Support Learning All the Time......”
Learning for everyone, young and old, should never end. How about making a New Year’s Resolution to consistently try to enhance learning for your children when they are away from school?
Read! Read! Read! Read to and with your Learner(s)!
Example! Example! Example! Read for yourself...Read for fun...Read for information!
Show your learner simple procedures for various tasks such as loading the dishwasher; making the bed; shoveling the walk; sweeping the garage floor; sorting the recycling; etc.
Observe unique things around you and engage in conversation and investigation about the unique animal; the unique building; the unique plant; the unique vehicle; etc.

Marne-Election

Students at Marne Elementary experienced democracy in action on Tuesday, November 4 as they participated in an all-school presidential election. Mrs. Justema's 4th grade class, having just finished a unit on the principles of American Democracy, conducted the election complete with a voter registration table and "I Voted" stickers for students to wear after casting their ballot. It was an excellent learning experience for students at all grade levels!

Kenowa Hills Varsity Football Players Cody Schievink, Josh Stewart and Kurt VanEssen visited Marne Elementary during a lunchtime recess. Students were able to play catch with the guys. During lunch there was a drawing and three lucky students received Kenowa Hills Conference Champ t-shirts. Every student at Marne Elementary received a cool pencil from the Kenowa Hills Spirit Store. A big thank you to the football players and the spirit store. Previous Image 1/3 Next
Marne-Kinder. Learners

Board Member Curt Orsinger and Superintendent Tom Martin look on as learners Randal Klatt, Justin McKnight, and Lucas Buck demonstrate word processing and proper login skills at the November 3rd Board Meeting held at Marne Elementary School. Additionally, kindergarten curriculum and teacher-created educational tools designed to support the home/school connection were showcased. Linda Fitzpatrick (Walker Station) and Mary Anne Ryan (Marne) developed/produced the innovative materials.

Marne-Post Farms

Students from Mrs. Rundhaug’s classroom visited Post Family Farms where they learned about seasons, farm animals and the lifecycle of produce (specifically pumpkins). The students were able to enjoy a hayride, hands on interaction with live farm animals, and warm pumpkin doughnuts with apple cider.
